Evelyn stood outside her daughter’s house, her heart racing with a mixture of nerves and determination. She couldn’t believe what she had heard at the wedding – her daughter’s fiancé and her bridesmaid planning to deceive her for their own gain.
With a steely resolve, Evelyn marched up to the front door and rang the bell. It was answered by her daughter’s bridesmaid, a look of surprise crossing her face when she saw Evelyn standing there.
Evelyn, what are you doing here?” the bridesmaid asked, her voice tinged with suspicion.
“I’m here to have a little chat with you,” Evelyn replied, her tone firm.
The bridesmaid’s eyes widened in apprehension as Evelyn pushed past her and entered the house. She followed Evelyn into the living room, where her daughter’s fiancé sat, looking equally surprised to see her.
“What’s going on?” he asked, his voice betraying his unease.
Evelyn fixed him with a steely gaze. “I heard what you said at the wedding, about deceiving my daughter for money,” she said, her voice cold and measured.
The fiancé’s face paled, and he opened his mouth to speak, but Evelyn held up a hand to silence him.
But here’s the thing,” she continued, a wicked glint in her eye. “I have a proposition for you. You see, I happen to know some very influential people in town, people who could make your life very difficult if they found out about your little scheme.”
The fiancé and the bridesmaid exchanged nervous glances, clearly realizing they were caught in Evelyn’s trap.
But,” Evelyn said, her voice softening slightly, “I’m willing to keep your secret… for a price.”
The fiancé and the bridesmaid looked at her, uncertainty written all over their faces.
“What kind of price?” the fiancé asked cautiously.
Evelyn smiled, a cold, calculating smile. “I want you to sign over everything you own to my daughter – the house, the car, everything. And then I want you to leave town and never come back.”
The fiancé and the bridesmaid stared at her in shock, but after a moment’s hesitation, they nodded, realizing they had no other choice.
And so, Evelyn watched with satisfaction as they signed over their assets, knowing that she had not only saved her daughter from a lifetime of misery but also exacted a satisfying revenge on those who had dared to deceive her. With a sense of triumph, she left the house, knowing that justice had been served.
